Kushiro City Museum 

The Kushiro City Museum building represents a Japanese Crane spreading its wings.
The stepped roof represents the contours around Lake Harutori where the museum is located.

Fisherman's Wharf MOO

Kushiro Fisherman's Wharf MOO is a unique building. It is a tourist facility located on the waterfront, close to Nusamai Bridge.
 It consists of restaurants, shops, and recreational facilities. Tourists, as well as local people, enjoy sightseeing, eating, shopping, and relaxing here.

Nusamai Bridge

Nusamai Bridge is located nearby Kushiro Fisherman's Wharf Moo. It is one of the most beautiful bridges in Hokkaido. Nusamai Bridge is arranged with romantic street lamps and bronze statues which symbolize the four seasons. The scenery at sun set from Nusamai Bridge is splendid. It takes 10 minutes to walk from Kushiro JR Station.
 

Manabotto Nusamai 

 The Manabotto Nusamai building is home to the  Kushiro City Lifelong Learning Centre and the Kushiro City Museum of Art. The appearance of this building resembles a lighthouse covered with glasses. This building  is the highest building in Central Kushiro, standing 66meters above sea level. The top floor offers a splendid panoramic view of the city.

Lake Harutori  

Lake Harutori is the largest lake within a city in Japan. It has been designated a National Natural Monument as a habitat of the Red Crucian Carp. This lake is popular as a place for relaxation and strolling.

Yonemachi Park

Yonemachi Park stands on a hill commanding a panoramic view of the port and the Town of Kushiro.
On fine days, you can see as far as the Akan Mountains from the new observatory. The new observatory  was molded after the old Kushirosaki Lighthouse.

Yonemachi Furusatokan

Yonemachi Furusatokan is the oldest wooden house in Kushiro.  It was built in 1900 by Mr.Torazo Watanabe to be not only his residence but also a shop where he could sell sea products. At that time, Yonemachi area was a central part of the economy of Kushiro. Nowadays, a coffee shop is  inside.

Marine Topos Kushiro

The port of Kushiro is renowned nationwide for its fishing fleet, and the ocean waters off Kushiro's coast comprise some of world's preeminent fishing ground.
This Marine Topos Kushiro exhibit is all about fishery in Kushiro. It takes 10 minutes by bus from Kushiro JR station and walk 10 minutes.

Kushiro City Zoo

Kushiro City Zoo is the second largest zoo in Japan. It was established in October,1975.
The cool climate of this area provides a favorable environment for Northern animals. Therefore a  series of successful, but difficult, breeding of several species such as Blakiston's Fish-Owls and Japanese Cranes have occurred. The zoo is situated at the end of the Kushiro Shitsugen (wetland). It is about 20 Km from the city, which is a 50 minutes bus ride.
